Eat the whole pod — sweetest straight off the vine. Cool-season crop that thrives in spring and fall. Provide a trellis and they'll climb happily.
In Zone 5, Sugar Snap Peas should be planted outdoors Mar 15 – May 1, Aug 15 – Sep 1, after the average last frost date of approximately Apr 15.

Peas fix nitrogen — they don't need feeding and prefer leaner soil. Over-feeding produces lots of foliage at the expense of pods.
Sow every 2–3 weeks from early spring until temperatures exceed 70°F. Peas hate heat — succession gets you more harvest before the season ends rather than gambling on one sowing.
