Zone 10 · Stone Fruit Growing Guide
One of the most rewarding fruit trees. Fast to fruit (2–3 years), generous harvest, and nothing beats a homegrown peach. Needs chill hours — check your variety.
In Zone 10, Peach should be planted outdoors Jan 1 – Feb 1, after the average last frost date of approximately Jan 15.
Very low-chill varieties only (50–150 hours). Limited selection. Bay Laurel or Tropic Sweet. Uncertain results.

Feed balanced fertilizer in early spring before blossom. Apply high-potassium feed after harvest to build next year's fruiting wood.
What you plant next to peach makes a real difference — some plants actively help, others compete or attract pests.
These guides get better when growers like you contribute. If something’s wrong or you’ve learned something worth sharing, we’d love to hear it.
