Compact winter squash with ribbed dark green skin. More manageable vines than butternut. Harvest when fully black-green and the stem dries out. Stores 2–3 months.
In Zone 3, Acorn Squash should be planted outdoors Jun 1 – Jun 15, after the average last frost date of approximately May 15. Start seeds indoors around May 1 – May 15 for a head start.
